My Life as a Realtor – Day 34

My Life as a Realtor ~

Day 34:

Another day come and gone – summer is quickly coming to an end and it’s making me depressed.  I LOVE SUMMER!  Don’t care for the humidity, and this summer has not been bad.  So, I really, really don’t want summer to end.

Worked from home today – phone calls, e-mails, potential new client…

Then a trip to the A & P in Danbury with Sara and Amanda.  I enjoy taking one or a few of the kids with me.  The girls did all the recycling while I covered over half of my shopping.  They also stood in line at the deli and helped bag the groceries and pack the car – the rental from EnterpriseFord Focus – that will be returned since Joe is in Portugal.  Nice little car, has a built in I-Pod player and the girls and I had fun listening to all my songs!  Ha!  They only like a few of them – here’s one –

Then back home…

HPIM2429                                         About to pull into my driveway…

And the best part of the day, I finally spoke with Joe!  I had been trying all day, but he, his parents, brother and family and his sister and family – who are all there on vacation – went to Fatima – the Holy Land of Portugal.

We downloaded Skype to the girls mini Dell computers – since they have a built in web cam – so, we not only spoke with Joe – we saw him and he us – Skype is so cool!

Every year that my in-laws go to Portugal, they always visit Fatima and then take advantage of the over 2 hour trip and take in a few other beautiful places.  One other place that they also always visit is Nazare – which is located on the Atlantic coast.  This beautiful beach with panoramic views of crystal blue water is also one of my favorite places to visit.  The view from the top is magnificent!

My Life as a Realtor – Day 13

My Life as a Realtor ~

Day 13:

Today, 1 appointment – a short sale in Danbury, CT.  Confirmed 2 other appointments for later this week.  2 new Lead Routers – I was in contact with both and it’s interesting that they are looking for similar listings – in the same area and almost the same price range.

Spent lots of time on the computer today – maybe a total of 10 hours.  During which a dove flew down, looking for seeds that fall from the bird feeders.  As I worked, he just sat and looked at me – for the longest time – too cute!

For dinner, I made pork loin with zucchini and beans – potatoes and salad.  Joe is still working nights – he ate dinner and left with snacks.  Tonight, Joe’s snacksconsisted of…  2 bananas, 2 oranges, 2 clementines, a peach, a nectarine, a granola bar,  a slice of cheese danish, a bag of cherries, cheese, low sodium chips,  strawberry Greek yogurt and lots of drinks.  Please don’t ever ask what our weekly grocery bill is – I’ve blocked it out of my head.

Jon & Kate Plus 8

Now, while still working, I’m watching Jon & Kate Plus 8anticipating their new episode tonight at 9pm.

My Life as a Realtor – Day 10

My Life as a Realtor ~

Day 10:

Late morning appointment in New Fairfield, CT with past clients that are looking into selling their home.  I was their selling agent almost 2 years ago.  What a pleasure it was to see them again, and to see the improvements they’ve done to their home.

Drove up to my listing in Brookfield, CTwent to put up my yard sign and lockbox.  My brother lives just a few minutes away, so I stopped and visited with my sister-in-law, Leia,  and the kids.  I was also their selling agent.  It’s always a pleasure to visit with them since they’re always making improvements and Leia has such awesome ideas that she inspires me.  Currently, she motivating me to paint my kitchen cabinets. I’m almost there….  just need one more push – well, one more BIG push!

HPIM1985        My kitchen cabinets – yes, that’s Moe – in his new hiding spot from the pups!

While I was visiting with the kids and meeting Taffy, their new kitty, the wind started to kick up and it got so dark within such a short amount of time.  As I was talking with Leia in the kitchen, I heard a loud sound and could see the trees move and shake along with what seemed like a dark gray cloud move across the yard – Bam!  The rain and wind hit the house.  I flew to my car – since I realized I had left both windows open, and had to drive home, drenched and barely able to see anything!  Very scary!

Afterwards, Matt, our most fantastic computer guy, delivered my daughter, Sara’s, new mini-Dell computer and took my Melissa’s computer to have a look since it’ s been over heating.  Then, I unfortunately had to deliver bad news to clients that the offer they submitted on a foreclosure was not happening since the bank accepted another offer.  That is the part I do not like about my job, being the bearer of bad news.

I also spoke with clients that just closed on their house 2 weeks ago.  The sellers rented out until the end of the month and my clients are excited about moving in this weekend.  I’m happy that they’ll be New Fairfield neighbors of mine.
